beautiful beach wedding questions...
FREQUENTLY ASKED CALIFORNIA BEACH WEDDING QUESTIONS!

REMEMBER!!!!
A Beach Wedding on the sand is very different than a beach wedding on the cliff. When you are on the sand, you are - ON THE SAND!
You and your guests will be walking across sand  and sometimes it is hot especially in the summer months. There is no shade at the
beach and that can make it uncomfortable for you and your guests. Most beaches have strict requirements about tents and structures, in
other words they cost more to ensure the heat doesn't make your wedding a bust! Beach weddings require a great deal of planning, so
make sure you have planned in advance. If so!!! read on for more questions and answers!

1. Are the Beaches private?
NO NO NO NO! All beaches in California are public that means any one can be there during your wedding. Many require that you get a
permit and have specific requirement. People will be around so you must take that into consideration. We can not rope off your stretch
of beach. That being said we can stake out our area in advance and most people are respectful!  The busiest months are June, July,
August, and September.  Many  Malibu Beaches are off limits May through October due to heavy tourist volume! Remember summer
months will be busy on the weekends at any beach or park location.....Call to ask what beach is best for you!

#2 - When is the best time to have a California beach wedding?
The busiest season is May through October with June, July, August being really busy. September after Labor Day is perfect. In October
and November, an 11:00 to 3:00 time is best.  December through March, we can have rain so you would probably want to do a gazebo
wedding.  April and May are very nice, cool, 60's to 70's but sunny. June can have some overcast days. July and August are busy, busy.
Labor Day Weekend & Memorial Day Weekend are not recommended.

#3. What is the best beach?
We prefer Santa Monica Beach it is wonderful and the restrictions are not so aggressive. If you want an Arch, chairs, runner etc, the city
od Santa Monica is good to work with. Other beaches have lots of requirements. Let us talk to you about all the issues.

#4. Can I have an arch & chairs?
Many beaches do not allow arches and chairs but many do. Let us talk you through the choices.

#5. Are there other beaches where I can have a wedding?
Lot's of them from Santa Monica to Malibu and we know them all give us a call and we can go over them.

#6 - I want a sunset wedding!
Usually this means, you want the sun to be going down into the ocean for the picture! While this is lovely it is harder for the
photographer to get great pictures without alot of special lighting SO why not schedule it one hour before and then take picu\tures
afterward when there isn't so much emotions going on!

You need to decide first if you want to be married what we call Toes in the Sand or a bluff over looking the sand. Usually it is easier for
guests to attend a wedding in a park over looking the beach than actually walking across the sand. We offer the Palisades Park high
above the pacific ocean as an alternative! Take a look here
Palisades Park

#7 - What will the weather be like?
Remember, we do not have humidity in southern California. We do not have bugs - flies or mosquitoes. Being outdoors is very, very
comfortable and pleasant all the time. From March until the end of November, we do not have rain. So I believe you will find that being
married on-the-sand or on-the-cliff at the beach in Southern California is THE BEST!
September after Labor Day is perfect. In October and November, an 11:00AM and early after-noon weddings are very nice. December
through March, we can have rain so you would probably want to do a gazebo wedding.  April and May are very nice, cool, 60's to 70's but
sunny. June can have some overcast days.
